The award-winning wines are the 2011 vintages of MV, Cabernet Sauvignon and Colección Privada
Dehesa del Carrizal has obtained three Gold Medals at the Concours Mondial de Bruxelles, held this year in Jesolo (Italy). The Gold Medal winners have been the respective 2011 vintages of MV, Cabernet Sauvignon and Colección Privada.
Dehesa del Carrizal’s MV is an elegant and balanced blended wine which gathers the best of the vineyard: the fleshy Syrah, the fruity and floral Merlot and Tempranillo, the long-lasting Cabernet Sauvignon.
Likewise, Cabernet Sauvignon is considered one of the best Spanish wines due to its complexity, its particular terroir and its slow and meticulous maceration.
The third winner has been Colección Privada, a cherry red coloured wine, powerful, full-bodied and very tasty —it aims at the highest in the wine world.
A total amount of 299 judges from 49 different nationalities gathered on the 1st, 2nd and 3rd of May in the Italian city of Jesolo to evaluate 8,020 wines coming from 37 countries.
This year’s competition returned to its travelling nature and took place in a Venetian wine-producing region. Created in 1994, it has become one of the most prestigious contests in the sector. The jury consists of the best international experts. All the wine series are presented in blind tastings, so as to ensure the anonymity of the samples, showing only the vintage year.
The Concours Mondial de Bruxelles is a trend-watcher in the wine world and it is noted for offering an up-to-date outlook of the sector.
