Decanter magazine is one of the most prestigious in the wine sector
Decanter magazine, one of the most important publications in the wine sector, has celebrated a new edition of its international Decanter World Wine Awards. These prestigious awards, organized for the first time in 2004, rely on an extremely high level jury: 224 professional wine tasters, from whom an amount of 66 are Masters of Wine and 18 are qualified as Master Sommeliers.
At the 2014 edition of the awards, where more than 15 000 wines took part, one of the award-winning wines was our Chardonnay 2011. It is a clean and shining wine, its greenish yellow colour does catch the eye. It presents white fruit aromas together with some honey and pastry notes. Unctuous and luscious in the mouth, but always fresh, light, pleasant, and with a long finish.
This wine is the result of a careful production process: harvest in September after full ripening, fermentation in new French oak barrels at controlled temperature and three-month aging with battonage on fine lees in similar barrels. Afterwards, the wine is kept in the bottle for at least 6 months.
Decanter, a monthly magazine, is distributed in 90 countries and includes news on the wine sector, recommendations, tasting notes and vintage guides.
